CircleSoft Entertainment was started in 2001 by two high-school students Bryan Biedenkapp and Brian Mooney for the sole purpose of delivering flash games and other flash based multimedia to the general population at the high-school at that time. (This, was in effort, to elude the blocks in place by the high-school to stop students from playing flash games during class and other outings to the computer labs. The block list from the school trying to block the site was a quarter HTML page long.)
Along with the purpose of delivering flash games and the such, the website also evolved over, about 2 years (from 2001-2003) to deliver video game news content, video game cheats, video game reviews and a large forte of video game based services. Most of which was successful, CircleSoft Entertainment (otherwise known as CSE for short), at the height of its popularity had many thousands of posts and articles on the forums, and a vast database of video game cheats. After 2004, a decline started, which was not rapid so the site did flourish up until about the middle to, end of 2005, or so, when a rapid descent occurred due to reoccurring server changes and crashes among other things. All of the compounded issues hit CircleSoft hard, and caused a rapid decline in overall website membership. From 2007 on Bryan Biedenkapp, and the core CircleSoft Group, kept CircleSoft Entertainment going as far as it has now, and will hopefully, continue to do so into the distant future.
Currently, CircleSoft's general focus has shifted from a broad-spectrum video games content delivery focus, to a more categorized focus on video game development and modding. While still hosting forums for general video game content. As of current, CircleSoft is working on a large variety of video game based projects in the hopes of releasing in the future, retro-style 2D games.
